First days of school

It has been the weirdest first week of school. The boys are starting virtual with the intent to go back in person as soon as the numbers are acceptable. Right now they are saying first nine weeks but they have a meeting next week to see if we will go back earlier.

The boys are hoping earlier.

They are so sad. This isn’t school at all. They miss their friends and being in an actual classroom. TheY have such large gaps between their meetings that there is a lot of down time. Yet not enough time to go do something. We are all slightly depressed around here.

And this girl is being homeschooled. I didn’t want her to have to sit in front of a computer all day and then was afraid of the back and forth that I’m sure will occur at some point. She told me last night that she doesn’t like being homeschooled. That it feels like a sick day yet she has to do school work.

We have done some fun science projects that she likes and I told her it’ll get more fun. This week has been getting the boys logged in at the right times. Most of her friends are being homeschooled as well so once we get the boys on their schedules we can have some fun play dates and field trips.

It’s been a long week already
