Spring Performance

Last week we went to watch Joel's Spring Music Performance
He is our very shy child who does not like to get up in front of people. I hate getting up in front of people so I completely understand.   It's funny because he's always determined to be the center of attention at home. But out in public he does not like people watching him. One day I took him a happy meal for lunch and kids would walk by saying hi Joel but Joels checks turned red and he kept his head down. He didn't like all the attention. (When you have lunch at his school you sit at a special table with all the parents and kids)
I was trying to get him to do his homework before we went and I made the mistake of saying if he doesn't do his homework he doesn't get to sing and he stopped doing homework right then! So we waited until after the performance to do his homework.
It was really cute and despite some of Joels faces he did enjoy it and was so proud of himself afterwards

Happy Birthday Norah

Yesterday our sweet girl turned FOUR!

She can hardly believe it too!

She picked out a sprinkle cake with sprinkles on top and we had fun making it together Friday afternoon.  She also saw a piñata at the store which she called (pin-ah-two) and wanted to do that. We just had a family party and after seeing the boys go after the piñata I'm glad there weren't more kids there. Kids blindfolded with a stick isn't always a good combination! And every time a piece of candy flew out Joel went for it so its amazing no one got hit with the stick.   It was raining so we did it in the garage.

She actually blew out the candles this year and didn't run in fear.  She's growing up.
Norah has been talking about her birthday forever so I hope it lived up to all she wanted. She loved to tell anyone her birthday was March 19th.  She picked subway for dinner and we went swimming all afternoon at the ymca.  She was also excited to pack her "makeup" and hair brush to sit and do that in the locker rooms.  She had seen some women doing that last time and its all she's talked about. She loved every  minute of it and the boys were all left wondering what was taking us so long.

She's my little sidekick and so much fun. Four is such a fun age that I'm trying not to think too much about this being her last year before starting kindergarten.  She has her moments of tantrums but they don't last very long and usually I just threaten not being able to play outside with the girl next door and she calms down pretty quick. Norah is funny and so loving. She's always giving us kisses and telling us how much she loves us or even "thank you for going grocery shopping today!" She is easily excited by the small things. Norah is a girly girl through and through - the more sparkles and glitter the better but she can also put her boys in their place pretty quick.   Its always funny to watch her in her princess dresses outside chasing the boys with a nerf gun

Happy Birthday our beautiful girl!  We love you
