Helper

A few weeks ago Norah had an early release and Brent was in Florida for a dent conference. She refused to ride the bus to a friends so I brought her into my school for the day. She loved it. The kids all loved her. She went to the 4 year old class and read a book to them and they all sat so quiet for her. She helped at stations. She was working in our class.

My school gets out at 1:30 and she said on the way home she was thinking of all she wanted to play and do. Then when she got home she just wanted to sit on the couch. In Norah’s words “I get you now mom.” Hahaha I also have so many plans but sometimes the couch wins.

She fell asleep eating her dinner. Kindergarten is tiring.

Then we found out we had a Covid case in our classroom - go figure the day I bring Norah with me. So we had to take a Covid test. We took 2 - once when we found out and then another a few days later to make sure since we didn’t have any symptoms. All 4 were negative.  She said when taking the test she should’ve just ridden the bus. But then Joel came home with a story of how a kid threw up on the bus in the isle and some girl didn’t see and slipped in it and fell and got it all in her hair. So Norah has now changed her mind and said she’d rather take a Covid test. And after that story I don’t really blame her…

Wisconsin

The week before Christmas we met Capers and went on the Wisconsin. When we scheduled it I had forgotten about the pasta dinners and Colin had missed the first one when he was in Cary for his swim meet, so he chose to go there.  At least he was a little conflicted about which one to do! ha!

The weather was perfect and we had a great time. And Capers I think this should be an annual tradition!

Christmas round 2

The kids were in school most of the week leading up to Christmas. So, we didn't get to our family Christmas until later.  Christmas was on a Sunday, and we came home late Monday night. Brent went to work Tuesday so Joel was waiting all day for our Christmas to happen.

Norah spent a month working on a board game to give to Brent. They play it every morning.

Joel made this bird ornament in art class.

Santa gave Norah backyard chicken books to try to convince her mother to get chickens.  Norah is thrilled that Santa is on her side. She got one stuffed chicken from Jeff and another from us.  If the price of eggs keeps going up she might get her wish.

This Dutch oven blanket has gotten lots of use.....

Joel made this ceramic box for me in Art class.  His teacher kept them busy  making gifts this year.
