Strawberry Picking

Today was one of those perfect summer days (I know we have weeks before summer starts but it feels like summer right now) I took Joel and Norah to the Botanical Gardens with some friends which was so much fun. And then Brent got home from work just as Colin was getting off the bus so we headed over to Pungo to go strawberry picking.  Colin had gone last week on a school field trip but he really wanted to go again since with his school they didnt have time to pick a whole bucket. And we all wanted to go - its become a fun tradition.
Norah LOVES strawberries and probably ate all of Colin's last week but at first she was a little unsure when it came time to pick her own.
It took her a while.  She was also distracted by the dog on the farm (uhh uhh - she might be saying woof woof maybe. I'm sure brent wont agree since she still only says mama and hi and not dada! )

I loved the progression of her reaching for the berries.
Brent is SOOOO picky about what berries he picks.  I've learned over the years not to pick anywhere near him since it annoys me :)  Brent will inspect each one and make sure its worthy to go in his basket.  Colin turned into a little Brent this time and was even pickier.
I dont think that patch made the cut :)
 Or the one Norah ate
She was pretty serious for a while picking them.
The juice stained face shows that she did start getting into strawberry picking.

A little girl with her bucket in one hand and strawbery in the other - not much cuter than that.
My job was basically run after Norah.  I did pick some and ate a few.

Joel didnt pick a single one that made it in the bucket.  He ran around and jumped rows and ate his fair share of strawberries.
 This just makes me laugh
The two serious strawberry pickers in the family.  We will all appreciate them this week :)

 Pretty ears were rubbed
Colin must have liked that strawberry
Daddy tried to get Norah to pick a certain one
I dont think she wanted to pick that one
A really big one he was proud of.
And now the fun part of eating all our strawberries.
