Norah was convinced she was watching her hokies play. She kept yelling GO HOKIES
Each year less and less people go....they could really play it up and do a lot to get more attendance. But they did put this really fun obstacle course for the kids. You press a button and then it starts this score clock and all the kids spent time trying to beat their best score.
There was a special roped off area just for the kids and when practice ended some of the players come over and pick a child to take onto the field with them. Colin begged and begged Norah to go because he was sure they would pick the really cute little girl. He bribed her with candy and things and Brent even started bribing her with shopkins. ha! she would have none of that. Joel went in with Colin but I think Joel got overwhelmed by all of Colin's instructions on players to get and didn't want to be in there. Joel still isn't big on crowds and the fact that we would pick him up on the other side of the field with so many people there was a little scary for him. So he went back to the obstacle course. This year the players started walking over and most of the kids took off running to them. So Colin took off after Kirk Cousins. He and a few kids headed that way. Kirk was still running plays but stopped to sign a few autographs and Colin was next but security came and took the kids to the parents area. haha! So close! But Colin did get Fullers autograph on his rookie card so we are hoping Fuller does great things! And the fact that Fuller is a fellow hokie makes it that much better!
Norah did get her football signed.
I don't know if you can see Colin but he's waiting for Fullers autograph.
And this guy might be my all time favorite player. Dustin Hopkins. Kicker.
He spent time with all the fans. Took his time. He signed Norah's football and then used Colin's pen to sign a few more and then came back and thanked Colin for letting him borrow his pen. We were waiting around to try to get a see a few more players and Dustin came back over and we got a picture with him and he spent some time talking with Colin. A really great guy.
