Training Camp

I don't think anyone is surprised that we went to Redskins Training Camp.  I mentioned that maybe this year Brent should go alone and he was highly offended that I mess with a family summer tradition.  So we all went! I always joke that preseason is the best time to be a Redskins fan because its always full of hope and promises.  Ha! We planned to go on a Monday but it was supposed to be awful thunderstorms all day.  Brent worked in the morning and when he got home we weren't sure if we should still go.  We kept watching the radar and then suddenly around noon the radar showed red and yellow right over training camp but at 3pm the skies were going to clear up and stay clear until 6pm so the afternoon session was a go.  Brent saw that and we got in the car soon after and headed to Richmond.
We met Ant Ant at work and then went and met Ivey at the camp.
Ivey had been there all morning and had set up chairs near the radio tent.  Brent noticed one of the guys doing the radio show was Brian Mitchell so Colin went over to get his autograph.
I told Ivey to get in the picture too and he said it was a family picture but got in when I told him I've known him longer than Brent. Brent and Ivey get along so well and are both diehard redskins fans. Brent basically has a twitter account just to tweet Ivey back and forth during the games.  I told Ivey he needs to come over this year for a game and it would be fun watching them both pace the room during the games.

Joel decided he's a broncos fan this year.   He kept asking why we couldn't go to their training camp.

They started playing Enter Sandman during the practice and sweet thing got excited for a minute and then her hopes were dashed when practice continued and the Hokies weren't playing.
"BUT WHY DID WE COME IF THIS WASN'T A GAME!!!!"  Flops to the ground "WHY ARE WE HERE FOR JUST A PRACTICE?!?!"   A proud  parent moment - don't worry sweet girl - we will get you to your beloved Hokies this fall!

Colin was excited because he's always convinced Norah is so cute and sweet that she can get the most autographs and they let the little kids go in this special area. This year she finally wanted to go in and Colin was allowed to go in with her.
All the kids were chanting JOSH NORMAN over and over. He didn't come over last year when kids were calling for him but this year he did.  He restored my faith in him and we got his autograph.

Colin was trying to get her to force her way through the crowds but eventually they made it for another autograph.

And now lets hope for a great football season!
