Dying Eggs
Easter outfits
And then it started to rain on us so much to the kids delight the pictures were done
I tried. And my sweet girl looked so pretty in her dress and the boys were so handsome.
Easter weekend
The kids got better and our car started working again so we were able to enjoy our easter weekend. The boys went to an egg hunt with our church while Norah stayed home with me and napped (poor girl got over the being sick and now has molars and an eye tooth coming in. Poor thing is miserable)
Then we went over the yorktown for a family easter dinner and egg hunt for the kids. Brent and Sam got into hiding the eggs. I'm not sure the kids found all the eggs.
And now we are off to the farm for a few days while Brent stays home, goes to work, and work on our bathroom. Dont feel too sorry for him. He's very excited about his full night of sleep he will get this week.

Stomp Rockets
On monday when colin was feeling better and before Joel and Norah came down with the stomach virus we worked on a christmas present the boys were given. It was a kit that made stomp rockets.
It was a hit. I can't tell you how many times Colin launched his and it went higher than the house.
It pretty much went as high as the top of the trees.
Joel didnt wants his rocket to go very high so we convinced him to just do it a little and then he was happier.
It came with a book that has a ton of small projects to do with things we find around the house, a tin can, battery, string, etc. So this summer we plan on making robots, cars, and other fun stuff with the boys.

Our week
So on paper this week stinks. I have had someone throwing up for the past 6 days. Norah and joel have thrown up at the same time. I've thrown up with them cleaning up their puke. We had a plumber over here to fix a leak and realized we had termites. Now a gut job will have to be done on the bathroom. Pest control guys were here today getting rid of the nasty bugs. And now my car won't start and our mechanic might be out of town. Just in time for spring break where I had fun things planned...provided the puking stops of course.
But other than that it hasn't been too bad. Normally I would be a crying overwhelmed mess but I had to laugh tonight when my car wouldn't start. I'm almost afraid of what will happen next. All those things will eventually get fixed. My kids will hopefully wake up feeling better and if we can't get the car fixed this week then I will come up with new things to do during our spring break. I did stock up on batteries for the wii remotes tonight :)
Colin and I ate what has become our traditional last supper meal alone together because Brent was still working and I wasn't about to give the other kids any food until they stop bringing it back up again. And even he laughed that it was just the two of us.
But there have been lots of snuggles, lots of love and patience from joel when Norah cries nonstop all day long, lots of my pretty ear rubbed and a cute 3 year old whispering over and over with throw up breath "I love you mommy" (it's so sweet and precious but at the same time so gross) Joel and Norah have had it the worst - of course since they are the two who can't make it to the bathroom :)
But tonight I went to watch Colin perform in his P.E. program and be so cute. He was so serious and proud up there performing. i got it all on video if anyone wants to come watch. There was a point in the program where they invited sibling and parents up to dance with them. Colin wanted joel to do it and begged me to go up with him since joel was at home with Brent and Norah. I hate getting up in front of people, let alone dance in front of them. But I did it for Colin and the look on his face was priceless and worth going. And right now I'm hoping no one got it on video.
It can only go uphill from here right?

Colin started throwing up Saturday
Norah started today. Both Colin threw up and just looked so pitiful. Norah hasn't moved much in hours. And it's so much easier with Colin. He ran to the bathroom. When Norah throws up both of us are covered in it.
Joel also started throwing up. Everywhere this afternoon. You would never know he was sick. It's amazing.
All these pictures were taken just after each kid threw up.
Here's hoping its the last of it.

Conversations
We were getting the kids ready for bed and I overheard this conversation between Colin and Joel
Joel: hey bubba. can I have this Lego figure? I really really really want it. (It was one of Colin's he kept in his special Lego box)
Colin: sure. But you have to be nice to Norah for a day.
Joel: ok
Colin: no make that nice for a whole week. You can have it if you are nice to Norah a whole week. (Joel is pretty rough with her)
Joel: ummmmm......ahhhhh....a week is a long long time....I will be nice to you bubba for a whole week.
Colin: nope you have to be nice to Norah.
(Big pause while he thinks about it)
Joel: I don't want it.
Haha poor Norah. I was thinking about that conversation this morning while dropping off Colin at school when Norah started to cry when Colin got out of the car. Joel did lean over and tried to hold her hand to make her feel better. Joel does lover her in his own rough, rubbing pretty ears way. His adores his Bubba... Not so sure sometimes how he feels about Norah.

Glitter
I think little girl knows she is months away from meeting her aunt Angela. I kept finding glitter in her poop. We hung our Easter eggs up and at first joel would rearrange the tree daily. One glitter egg had fallen and Norah tried to eat it. So that glitter poop was easy to figure out. I made sure to keep the eggs off the floor but she kept pooping glitter. Then I saw her go over to the table, shake it and then walk away licking her hands. she had figured out that the glitter would fall when she shook the table. We have gone a few days now without any glitter diapers. She must've realized that while its nice and shinny it doesn't really taste very good. That or she's already shaken all the loose glitter off the eggs :)

boys makeup
We went like this to music class last week. Joel was keeping himself busy while I got Norah ready to go. The other kids loved it. Joel thought he was a star :) Maybe I should've tried a little harder to wash it off...but it was way too cute how proud he was of it.
playing
Lots of toys in the bin next to me. Of course I only want to play with what Joel is playing with.
Did Joel really leave me here all by myself to play with his little star wars figures?
Lets see whats in here
Maybe its more fun to put it on my head.
But then I tried to eat one of the figures and mommy told me no. Joel tried to comfort by rubbing my pretty ears.
That ear didnt work? Lets try the other.
