Batteries

So tonight we had an adventure that I'm hoping doesn't occur again but with my kids I'm pretty sure might happen again. Right before dinner Norah was playing with a flashlight and a few minutes later I looked over and the flashlight was unscrewed and tiny batteries were next to Norah. I quickly swiped her mouth, found nothing and then put the batteries back in the flashlight but 1 was missing. I looked everywhere and Norah seemed normal and thankfully Brent came home a few minutes later. He looked too and then I called the doctor. The doctor said to go straight to the emergency room even though we weren't sure if she actually swallowed it. So after a quick call to a friend we dropped the boys off and drove to the hospital. (thanks holly!) the boys were great and just went with the flow. We had another friend go pick up the boys (thanks Clemma! ) for what we thought might be a sleepover with their kids when it looked like we might be there a while waiting. The boys were a little disappointed when we got out of the hospital faster than we expected since they didn't get their sleepover. I was a mess and cried the whole way to the hospital but we found the battery. In Norah's intestines. But thankfully it passed the dangerous part and now we get to make sure it passes - hopefully it passes in the next few days or we have to go back and I guess they would go in and get it. One good thing is that Norah spent Sunday night throwing up and hadn't eaten all day so since that battery was the first food other than a few crackers it made the battery get so far in a short amount of time.

We did get what will be some expensive pictures :) but thankful it wasn't worse. And thankful for friends who live blocks away when things like this happens.
